Mittens and Scarves

I was talking to my Mom about some gifts I could make as Christmas gifts and she said I know something you could make me...hahaha! She wanted a board that had clips and pegs to hang her gloves and scarves on. I'm not sure if this is what she had in mind, but it sure was fun and empowering (using a saw all by myself to cut the board) making it. I got the vinyl cut from Valerie and Dad drilled the peg holes...what did I do? haha

Christmas Card Clips

I saw this in one of my magazines and since I had no way to display the cards I received I figured this would be cheap and easy! It took less than 10 minutes to complete the whole thing and cost less than $4.00. That's my kind of craft! These are just clothes pins covered with Christmas ribbon.

CD Case Calendar

A LONG time ago one of my good customers from The UPS Store brought in this little desk calendar that she made using a CD Jewel Case (this was years ago) but I had always wanted to make one so I got to work making this up. I started with December and yes I know it's hideous but I mostly like how the rest of it turned out!

Wood Boat

While visiting Megan, I had to hit the local DI. I found this boat there which was cute enough just plain blue, but it was kind of dirty. I decided to buy it. For only $1.50 could I really go wrong? Today, I felt the need to craft. I actually didn't plan on doing anything to it when I bought it. I just planned on hanging it in the bathroom. I decoupaged paper onto the back and then decided that I needed to put something on the shelves. So, I grabbed a little frame I had from a broken frame display we used to have and decoupaged it, added some ribbon and words. I like how it turned out, although I still need some things for the other shelves. But, I was bummed to get it hung up only to find that the paper is way more blue than I thought so it doesn't match. SAD DAY!

Stationary Kit

Outside of closed kit Inside
Everything that comes in the kit
I found this kit on several other blogs..If you want the link, let me know and I will get it for you. I wanted to make one for Cassi, who is moving to Idaho and once I made one and was successful, I decided that I should try to make one for Grandma B for her Birthday. The above kit is the one I made for Grandma B. It turned out really cute and I love my new Bird Stamps that I picked up from Joann's with some birthday gift cards!

Thanks SO Much

This is the Thank You I designed to go with Valerie's Birth Announcements!!

Baby Announcement

This is my little bald Ashten, I forgot how little hair he had (he still had more hair than most babies just not as much as his brothers)

Valerie asked for help making up baby announcements, so of course we went to my favorite website: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ to steal something and make it our own. Which design do you like best?

Kain Na!

Not much of a craft but I had to bust out the Cricut so I am totally counting it. (I did make some thank you cards today but I'm not sure that I have an extra one to take a picture of...and they are pretty basic cards anyways.) Kain Na! (pronounced kah-in nah) means "Let's Eat!" in Tagalog (The Filipino language). I cut them out of vinyl that I picked up at JoAnn's today.

Tana Clipboard

I was so excited to buy this clipboard for .97 at Walmart. I wasn't really sure what to do with it but thought it would be cute if it could just hold a picture. So I did some decoupage and cut "Tana" out with the Cricut. I like how it turned out but I am really unsure what people who decorate clipboards usually do with them?

Seasons of Joy

The Enrichment board is getting ready for Super Saturday! YAY I can't wait. Here is a frame I've done before in a baby theme and converted it to a winter/christmas theme so that we have a display to show the sisters in the ward. Hope they like it.

PMS

Mariah, Toni, and Jeanie Britany made some awesome cards and even helped out with some scrapbooking!
Kathy and Kristin chattin' it up
Tonight, I had my second PMS Party. What's PMS? Pizza Movies and Stamping. I had a good turnout and lots of fun. We watched a couple of movies, I don't even remember what we watched, I was busy working on a scrapbook and helping others with their crafts. I am sad to say that I am no longer a Stampin' Up! demonstrator but maybe someday I will be able to try it again. I had a lot of fun having an excuse to get just the girls together!!
The boys were looking forward to the party all day because they know when Mommy has her parties they get to have Transformer Movie Night with Daddy. Which means they get to watch a movie that I usually wouldn't allow them to watch and eat lots of junk that I wouldn't let them eat until they pass out on Mommy and Daddy's bed, in their clothes and dirty teeth. It's one of their favorite things to do with Daddy!

The Royal Birds

Our second cake decorating class is SO hard. I'm not sure if I'll pass. There is so much homework that I just don't have time for. You'd think I was in college or something. This week I spent equally time prepping for class as the class length itself only to find out that I was NOT prepared. My favorite part about this week was learning how to make these birds out of Royal Icing. I think I could make some pretty cool things by playing around with the Icing a little bit. The flowers that we learned did not look cute and the reason I am sure to fail is that throughout the first 3 weeks we are supposed to be making flowers, tons of them. Which none turned out this week and we missed the first week because Armand didn't get home in time for me to take the car. Then, on our last week we are supposed to bring in all the flowers we have made plus a frosted cake and decorate the cake with the birds and flowers. It's not looking good. I hope they don't mind if I just have 3 blue birds on my cake.

RX

BeforeAfter
I love to recycle by reusing and turning into a craft, so I have been saving this vitamin bottle for months. I can't wait to fill it with some sort of yummy candies and give it to someone who is not feeling well (hopefully nothing serious though). Maybe I'll make a matching card later if I get the kids down for naps and they stay there...yeah right.

Out of This World!

So more than likely after the last 3 or so posts no one will take this site seriously, I made colored this on our road trip to Tillamook today. But, I am going to create something tomorrow! I mean it, I cleaned my scrapbook room on Friday and I want to put it to use and dirty it up. Cross your fingers for me that I will get a few minutes of free time.

HAHA

I don't usually draw and I don't usually make weird art. Today, I was talking to Wes and wishing him a Happy Birthday. When I got off the phone I looked down and saw this body drawn on my Stampin' Up grid paper. It had an old man's head that just didn't look right (as if this DOES look right) and it had a tongue sticking out. Next thing ya know, I was cutting off the head and taping Baby J's head to it. HAHA I'm a dork nothing more to say!

Baby Quilts

My craft for the day: I wasn't going to post anything today but then I thought, "I DID make something today so why not post it". The Stake is having a Women's conference and they will be tying baby quilts I believe for the DI. They needed volunteers to sew them together. So I didn't chose the fabric or even cut them out all I did was pin them together, sew them, flip them inside out then sew around the edge. Now, I am in the mood to make a baby quilt for someone...I wish it was me that needed one;)

I graduated!

Here is my final cake.

My "diploma" AKA Certificate of Merit
I went to our last class today or course 1 that is. I had the worst time with my roses because my frosting was overly stiff. But over half way through I got the frosting to the right (well good enough to get something done) consistency. I think it's pretty good it would have been way cute if I would have had more time. My favorite part was the leaves the frosting was awesome and they just turned out great. (Thanks Kristin for bringing that kind of frosting. I will have to buy next time!) Anyways, the best part of the class is that Ayden who had separation anxiety and major meltdowns when I started the classes has grown from this probably more than my cake decorating skills. He finally realizes that it's OK for Mommy to leave and I will come back. When I left today he said "Mommy, How long till you get back?, 15 minutes?" I said no 2 hours...as I cringed waiting for the meltdown...But he said, "OK, I love you!" He's growing up... :)... tear.

Martha, are you kidding me?

Nope, Kristin didn't shrink, it's just a huge scrapbook... And HUGE paper!
Tonight, Kristin and I went over to Michael's to use our 50% off coupons. I got a teddy bear cake pan for AJ's birthday and a bunch of stuff from the $ bins...MY FAVE!! Oh AND the best deal that I found was a set of punctuation for the sizzix regular price $79.99 sale price $7.00. SEVEN DOLLARS!?! Can you believe it! Anyways, after hitting up the cake and $ sections we went over to the scrapbook section...Now seriously everyone either LOVES or HATES Martha. I LOVE her! But, I lost some of that love today in the Michael's scrapbooking aisle. These scrapbooks she sells are 18"X18" seriously, who has a shelf that big to store this on? I have a hard enough time storing the 12"X12" books. And the paper is ridiculous! How do you cut it? How do you store the paper? Do they make 18" filing cabinets? How do you fill a paper that size? Do you print all 8"X10" photos to take up tons of space? The whole thing is just crazy! I have to know....Martha, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING???

Anderson is turning one

Anderson's birthday is just sneaking right up on me, YIKES!! I made the invitations to his party at ward scrapbooking night. As usual we had a fabulous turn out, me and mom...it's fun that way we don't have to act all Molly. HAHA Yah right, like I ever act like that. Anyways, I totally stole the idea from SCS (my fave website) and made it my own with a few personal touches.

My First Project

Kristin and I had class tonight 3rd class but only 2nd that we've attended. I was dreading it because I didn't want to have to make the cake and the frosting! This is why I don't go to school anymore because I can;t do the homework! Anyways, we learned how to make flowers, freakish clowns (you know you've had one on one of your birthday cakes in the 80's) faces, a bear face, hearts and some different flowers. I don't know what I was thinking, but I started making the cake at 430 by the time it came out of the oven it was after 530 and I had to let it cool and frost it before 610 so we could get to class by 630pm. So it's not the best smooth frosting ever but I like my flowers. Even the teacher said they were good and I was quick. A little redemption from the last comment she made to me. PS:This cake is SO yummy...French Vanilla Cake with "Banana Cream Pie" Pudding for the filling...Grub!!
